One hundred years of experience in tanning technologies.

Our story begins in the early 1900s with a small tannery and the strong desire to improve that shaped our future development. The experimentation carried out during that long period represents the know-how based on which Chimont was founded in the 1960s, thanks to Ugo Petroselli, one of the first Tuscan leather technicians. Over the years that followed, our growing acclaim on international markets led to transformation of the company into Chimont International and to the creation of a pool of companies with specific skills. Today, all these facilities constitute ChimontGroup, one unique company that brings together multiple specialisations and offers a greater service level.

Our Research and Development laboratory includes departments specialised in analysis, experimental tanning, finishing, application testing and pilot tanning. This is the place where we test processes and products designed to respond quickly and effectively to the daily demands of the leather industry, from both an industrial point of view, through effective and less polluting production processes, and also from an aesthetic point of view, with items that interpret the fashion trends.
